Fox News' Julie Banderas goes ballistic on Shirley Phelps-Roper, who has brought her "God Hates Fags" campaign to the funerals of soldiers who have died in service of this Sodomite nation of ours. Unfortunately, Julie also goes Biblical, not the best strategy for someone opposed to the notion that God Hates Fags. Worst of all, she quotes some irrelevant language from Leviticus, whose pertinent passages commands people to kill fags -- and she compounds the error by calling Shirley an "abomination", which is precisely what God Calls Fags. And in the middle of her own preaching about what (she thinks) Bible says and God wants, Julie demands to know what authority Shirley has to preach.

Re: "God Hates Figs" campaign on Fox
Sat, June 17, 2006 - 12:38 PMThis drunk guy told me yesterday, with aching sincerity and the force of passion brought on by a recent revelation: "We can HAVE heaven! It could happen at any moment - it will happen in an INSTANT if it happens!" He was clearly stunned and even frightened by his insight. He rocked my world. I wept a little, at the guy, because he was being so tragically beautiful.
We could have explosive beauty, real life, communion, love - in an INSTANT. We may not even get a choice about it. Surely it's at least as likely an event as armageddon - I'd argue it's more so, in that armageddon seems so imminent, yet has never happened.
There's more good than evil.

Re: "God Hates Fags" campaign on Fox
Sat, June 17, 2006 - 2:13 PMA Catholic nun once told me (i think she was specifically refering to the then Pope) that no man should be so arrogant as to think he / she knows what God thinks. She went on to say that God will only judge you by one criteria, and that is how you direct your concience. So for these holes that yap on about what God thinks............please send me his email address, i got some questions for him. And don't thump the bible at me you reatards - MAN wrote it. -

Re: "God Hates Fags" campaign on Fox
Tue, June 20, 2006 - 6:43 PMPrecisely, Zach.
Isn't one of the commandments "thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor" or something along those lines? Assuming the Bible really is true (or based on truth in the very least), I wonder how severe it is to bear false witness against [G]od? True, while there is a chance that you can guess correctly how [G]od feels about something, would anyone really want to risk the chance of getting it wrong?
Besides...think of it in [G]od's terms: if YOU were [G]od, would YOU want some human spouting off what THEY believe to be YOUR thoughts and feelings, even if they are right?

Re: "God Hates Fags" campaign on Fox
Wed, June 21, 2006 - 9:56 AMDamn near every Christian (that acts in the positive, respectful, and Christ-like way I have come to expect from Christians) I have known does not advocate preaching the way [G]od thinks or feels. They advocate reading the Bible and perhaps joining their church, but they do not run around protesting things because they interpret the Bible in some such specific way that makes them believe [G]od thinks or feels one way or another about something.
I don't believe Zach had anything to say suggesting that Christians support this bigot. -

Re: "God Hates Fags" campaign on Fox
Wed, June 21, 2006 - 10:18 AMI was right with Zach until this little jab, "And don't thump the bible at me you reatards - MAN wrote it."
I find Phelps scary. I went to his site with the full intention of telling him that he was acting in a VERY un-Christ-like manner, etc., etc.....and turning people AWAY, etc. etc.....but his entire website is full of hate. They say over and over do NOT write them about your feelings because they don't care, and they'll just lump you in with their hate. It was just the worst evidence of evil (back to THAT thread ;oD ) I have ever encountered.
I get a really sick feeling in the pit of my stomach when I hear or see anything dealing with Phelps. The man truely reeks of evil.
